Is Doris a public booking page like Calendly?

No. I'm for closed memberships, invite only. There's no public link, no marketing your venue, no chasing strangers for card details.

Does Doris handle payments?

I never hold the money, and that's intentional. On Diary & Billing I raise the statements, and if you connect your own Stripe account your members can pay by card, straight into your bank. Bank transfer and cash work exactly as before. The money is always yours; I just keep the score.

Which plan do I need?

Diary if you just need rooms booked without clashes. Diary & Billing if you charge for them: different rates for different members, extras, statements and analytics.

Do my team need to download an app?

No App Store needed. I install from the browser: one tap, and I sit on the home screen like a native app.

How does the free trial work?

Up to 28 days free, no card, and every trial is a full Diary & Billing trial. You get 14 days to start, a week when you finish setup, and another week once you've added five members.

Moving your bookings across

The one part of setup that takes a bit of effort. Worth knowing what to expect.

The diary you keep today is full of bookings I know nothing about, and someone has to put them in. I would rather say that plainly than pretend there is a button. This page is about doing it once, in the least time: anything that repeats goes in as one series, and a bigger screen makes the rest quick.

The honest bit

You’ve got bookings in a spreadsheet. They need to come across to Doris.

There’s no magic import. It’s a one-time manual job, and it does take a bit of time.

One thing takes a good chunk out of it: anything that repeats goes in once as a recurring series, not date by date. A weekly class that runs all term is a single job, not twelve.

Do it once. Then you’re done.

Two ways to do it

Option A - Admin does it

One person goes through the existing diary and enters everything directly. Focused work. Gets done in an afternoon.

Option B - Phased rollout

Add members a few at a time. Ask each person to enter their own existing bookings. Slower, but nobody gets lost.

Option A - One person, one sitting

An admin opens the old diary, works through it room by room, and enters everything into Doris.

Quick to coordinate. No confusion about who’s done what.

Good for smaller organisations or tightly managed diaries.

Option B - Bring people in gradually

Add members a few at a time. Each one gets their welcome email straight away, so they can sign in and enter their own bookings.

Admins can watch, help, and catch anything that doesn’t look right before the next group arrives.

Good for larger teams or anyone who wants a gentler rollout.

Easier on a bigger screen

You can do this on your phone, but the desktop view shows your whole week across all rooms at once. For bulk entry, that’s a much easier working surface.

After the initial transfer, Doris takes over.
